WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT KOBUSHI SHIBA PUPPIES: I take the breeding of dogs very seriously. All my dogs are health tested with results registered with O.F.A.Each
litter is carefully planned and hand raised with the intent to further
my breeding program. Please note that, my intent is to keep back one
puppy from each litter for myself. All pets are placed on a spay/neuter contract only. Serious inquiries are always welcome. References to reputable breeders I work with are available upon request. (scroll through the slide show for more detailed information)
EXPECTATIONS:
Puppies are a lifetime
commitment. Where as we will always take our Shibas back should
unexpected life changes occur, we expect that our puppies are being
placed into a loving family and for it's entire lifetime. Shibas are
very healthy in general and can live up to 16 years or more.
Puppies are available after 8 weeks of age, to allow for proper
socialization between the litter mates and the their Mom. It's is a
vitally important stage of development that will ensure a well adjusted
family compainon.
Buyer Beware! We do not plan for, nor
do we breed for creams, however they do happen on occassion. Creams are
not an approved or recommended color nor, is it a "rare" color. It is a
color fault in our breed, and as such they are only available to
approved pet homes.
TRAINING:
Obedience classes are required and recommened! Shiba puppies can be
very naughty at times due to a high intellegence and are easily bored.
Obedience classes will assist with building the bond between the Shiba
and his owner, as well as teach you how to properly correct the Shiba.
Early sociallization and a regular routine are both very important to a
healthy happy Shiba Inu puppy. Often Shiba puppies do not enjoy their
feet to be touched. I recommend that you massage their feet on a daily
basis and continue their nail trimming routine on a weekly basis. Bathes
are also a necessary life skill and must be given regularly and with
lots of patience!
